I'm glad to see Sailing To America on your list. I've seen it on a few other list on facebook too. Is there even a live recording of Sailing To America out there? Hell, I envision them recording it and including it as a bonus track / video / podcast / etc. someday. It would mean alot if they took the time to work it up for the North American tour.

I'm keeping the faith that it will happen.

Last Thursday Chris Jericho was promoting the Saxon / Fozzy tour on the radio (Liquid Metal). I'm not sure how long he was on but I listened for about an hour. He did a great job. He seems like a very nice dude. I've never listened to any Fozzy's music before. Now, "Spider In My Mouth" is stuck in my head. He also played Battalions Of Steel.

This was almost impossible to do. I went through each CD and picked probably 40 songs as a short list. Then I decided that if 4 of the sixteen songs were to be from Sacrifice then only 4 classic hits would be at the end of the list. That was the first tough choice. That left me with 8 songs to choose.
I wanted to go with albums the current lineup had put out but that was still too many choices. I wanted to pick half of Unleash the Beast and half of Call to Arms! So many good songs on Call to Arms but we heard them last tour here in California. I tried to choose a few obscure songs that really would rock live but so limited in available slots.

I don't do Facebook, so here is my list posted on the best forum of any metal band:

1. Procession/Sacrifice
(no brainer)
2. Stand Up & Fight
(ass kicker)
3. Hammer of the Gods
(revisited from last year)
4. Back in '79
(see #3)
5. And the Bands Played On
(classic!)
6. Dogs of War
(personal favorite)
7. One Step Away
(quick and krunchy)
8. Guardians of the Tomb
(best new song)
9. Warriors of the Road
(latest anthem)
10. We are Travelers in Time
(live - my metalhead will explode)
11. English Man O' War
(one of many greats off Lionheart)
12. The Thin Red Line
(dedicated to those that fight for us)
13. 747 (Strangers in the Night)
(Are you tired yet?)
14. Strong Arm of the Law
(Nibb's bass solo)
encore
15. Princess of the Night
(90 Tons of Thunder)
16. Wheels of Steel
(The song that started it all in the States)

I burned a CD with this list and it rocks. As a Saxon fan for 33 years I'm just happy to be able to see them again. Rock the Nations!
-Skid

PS. - I've got 37 Saxon songs on my internet radio station!

Near impossible with so many albums and tons of great songs. My list not necessarily in order of how they would be played

1. Procession/Sacrifice
2. Stand up and Fight
3. Guardians of the Tomb
4. Made in Belfast
5. Call To Arms
6. Hammer of the Gods
7. Battalions of Steel
8. Wheels of Steel
9. I've got to Rock (to stay alive)
10. Lionheart
11. Crusader (full 3 verse version. The original second verse is kick ass)
12. The Eagle has landed
13. Solid Ball of Rock
14. Never Surrender
15. 747 (strangers in the night)
16. Heavy Metal Thunder

Since they haven't been in Vancouver forever and a year maybe 4 more songs ;-)

OK, I put a lot of thought into this, had to listen to every album again to make sure I had this down. This is MY dream setlist based on a combo of the songs I WANT to hear along with the songs I've already heard (one of my goals here is to hear as many different songs as possible versus what I heard on the Call to Arms US tour). I doubt my setlist will be picked because I went out a limb a bit, but hey, this is what I want to hear!

Oh, I'll be at the Milwaukee show

--four from the album Sacrifice, this was hard because EVERY song on Sacrifice is a winner and would be worth hearing live!
Sacrifice
Guardians of the Tomb
Night of the Wolf
Warriors of the Road

--twelve from everything else, (which is almost impossible to do, even with 20 songs I wouldn't be able to have everything played that I want!)

State of Grace - first song off the first "new" Saxon album I ever bought (yes, I was a bit late to the Saxon bandwagon), it blew me away at first listen so now I want to be blown away live!

Beyond the Grave - such a great groove to this song

Killing Ground - great song to kick up the speed a bit

Conquistador - one that I really wanted to hear last time, so now I REALLY want to hear it, and it's a good song to keep Nigel busy

The Thin Red Line - saw this suggested for one of the recent shows in Europe, I agree, great song, break it out for the U.S. shows

Big Twin Rolling - what says Saxon more than a great motorcycle song?

Ride Like the Wind - another one I really want to hear last time, such an amazing song that I really need to hear!

Rockin Again - Innocence is such a great album, and even if Biff didn't like this song as an album opener, I still think it's such a strong anthem type song that it needs to be played live

Sailing to America - another one that many others have suggested, so I'm joining the bandwagon hoping to hear a great song that makes such sense to play in the U.S.

Power and the Glory - the video might be cheesy, but the song is amazing, again a great song to pick up the pace a bit, one of my top 10 favorite Saxon songs

And the Bands Played On - have to include on "classic" that is a repeat from last tour, and this is the one that makes the cut for me, great riff, great storytelling, love it!

Motorcycle Man - have to include a second "classic", might as well be one that again brings some speed back into the set!
