Default Scrapbook Corner

I like those faded pictures and articles, that give a fine taste of Saxon-history. Nice drawing that nr.1 picture,.. Hope there will come many more. Good work Mr. Byford. Glad that wasnt burned during the fire. Treasures from the past, being rescued in time..fantastic!

I like the scrapbook corner, too. It reminds me of Saxon's glorious past and some memories from the 80s come back to my mind. Is it really more than 20 years ago? As time go by...

But unfortunately I missed the first part of the scrapbook corner. What was the drawing like? Could you please post it or PM???

Cheers,
Jo

I agree - the Scrapbook Corner is a great idea ! Thanks, Biff. The change in ticket prices over the years is interesting (well – to a sad’n like me !!). Looking through my old (unshredded !) tickets:

Wheels of Steel (1980) - £ 2.50
1980 Donnington (Saxon with Rainbow, Judas Priest, Scorpions, April Wine and Riot) - £7.50
Strong Arm (1980) – £ 3.25
Denim & Leather (1981) - £ 4.50
Eagle has Landed (1982) – £ 5.00
Power & Glory (1983) - £ 6.00
Crusader (1984) - £ 5.00
Innocence is no Excuse (1985) - £ 5.50
Rock the Nations (1986) - £ 6.00
Destiny (1988) – shredded !
Rock n Roll Gypsies (1989) – shredded !
Ten Years of Denim & Leather (1990) - £ 7.00
Solid Ball of Rock (1991) - £ 7.50
Forever Free (1992) – DM 28
Dogs of War (1995) – DM 30
Unleash the Beast (1997) – DM 35
Metalhead (1999) – DM 35
Killing Ground (2001) – DM 42
Lionheart (2004) – £ 16.50
Night Out with the Boys (2006) - £ 15
Harvey Goldshite at Sheffield (2007) - £ 15
Inner Sanctum (2007) - £19.50

p.s. - loads of my old Rainbow and Whitesnake Tickets are from "Harvey Goldsmith Presents" !

Cheers,

Goss.

Default Scrapbook Corner

Talking of Scrapbook Corner, does anyone out there remember a really old B&W pic of Biff watching his (then) wife/girlfriend(?) washing the car while he just stood there with a mug of tea in his hand?! I think it was in one of the tabloids rather than a music paper, early 80s (?) - I could be wrong on some of that detail though.

It's still a scene that gets re-enacted in our household whenever I get round to washing my car (well, we think it's funny not sure how many other people would get it though - it is a bit of an obscure reference!).

If by some miracle anyone has a copy of that pic and could post it here, that would be great. Or if Biff could post it in Scrapbook Corner even better!

Fingers crossed,
S101

... forgot to say in my previous post, thanks Goss for posting the old ticket prices: a real picture of the British (and German) economy in a nutshell. Don't let Gordon Brown see it, he might try and slap a bit more tax on tickets too, on top of all life's other essentials (alcohol, etc.)!

Talking of which, anyone seen the price of tickets for the Scorpions at Manchester Apollo later this year? Seems to be hovering around the £38 mark, inc. booking fee. Blimey. I'm still waiting for them to go on sale at Hammersmith, but guess the price won't be a lot different -- probably even more expensive Still, you can't take it with you ...

(Sorry if I should've started a new thread to moan about ticket prices -- I'm new round here !)

I would have gone to see Scorpions at the Manchester gig, but not at £38 a ticket! Talk about taking the piss!

I don't think it cost that much when we saw them with Judas Priest, never mind on their own!!! Would love to see them again, but like you say, not at that price!
