Good day Snaggis,

Welcome aboard and never fear - you are never too young to be a fan. Remember this, most of the farts on this board were probably younger than 16 when they saw Saxon the first time plus, the more fans the merrier.
As far as Saxon being a hippie band, well, they have been around a long time - almost thirty years. I remember having a conversation with my old man a ways back about the Stones starting out before radio was invented! (Philthy Phil may have been at their first tour though ) It is all about perspective - when a band has been around for thirty years and you're only a teenager, that's a couple of lifetimes' worth.

Welcome and cheers from Spain!
It's a pleasure to read young people talking like that about classic rock! Most of the spanish heavy/rocker youth are too inclined to hear nothing except power metal ("there's nothing before Stratovarius", "Kay Hansen is god", etc.) (and I'm not picking on these groups )

It's the same in Italy...I think it's a problem of mass perspective, not of Nations...

Yes, maybe you're right, but it's remarkable the amount of power metal groups in the south of Europe (Spain, Italy, Portugal, etc.)

I have my own opinion of this. I think that young people like bands like CoB and Stratovarius because Metal is now "cool" like rap was 10years ago.

Hello suomalainen sankari and greetings to Oulu! That's true what you said - Maybe it's because of Idol's type of program formats (ie. "Hevi-Ari"). Trends will come and go, so dont worry.
