Hi there,
since I'm planning to move to the UK on this month, I'm looking for information about mobile and internet operators. I've found out that in the UK there are 4 mobile operators: Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile, Orange, Three. Do you know more? I would like to know in your opinion what's the best (that is, the cheapest) one? Do you know where I can get a table of charges for each of that companies? Can you list me the name of the internet operators active in the UK? Do you know if getting an internet connection is hard for a foreigner that doesn't want to stay too much time in the UK (more or less a year)? Thanks!

I'm on the "Pay As You Go" option with Orange, and because I don't use my mobile often it is very cheap. Being able to pay for phone credit whenever I need it is, in my opinion, better than going on a contract deal with Orange because, as I said before, I use my phone very little.
As for internet, I'm with BT (British Telecom). People may have mixed opinions on their service but my internet speed is very good for the countryside area that I live in, and I haven't personally had any serious problems. |

Best bet is to bring your own phone and get a SIM deal.
I use Tesco's (who use 02 as a provider) and for £15 a month I get unlimited texts, 500 free call minutes and unlimited internet on the phone. Pays to shop around, as many places offer multi deals |

How long does a contract with British Telecom last? If I succeed I'm supposed to stay in Lodon for a year... Thanks for helping. Thanks. Yeah, I'm taking my mobile with me and I want just to buy a British SIM. The Tesco option is interesting, I will think it over! Do you know if they have also a "Pay as you go" option? Thanks for helping!

o2 do lots of pay as you go deals such as £10 a month giving you 100 free minutes and unlimited texts. Most broadband providers will tie you in to a set period, as well as the ones mentioned there is also a firm called plusnet who I hear are pretty reliable.
Also check out Virgin Media they do mbiles and broadband. When are you coming over and where did you decide to move to in the UK?

I would say get a 'contract', you can get good deals where you pay fixed amount a month, it is cheaper than 'pay as you go'
I would advise you to get the deal that Militia Guard uses, I pay twice as much for the same! Where will you be living in the UK?
