Default Official lyrics

I just purchased the double compilation CD of Strong Arm and Denim & Leather. I was reading the lyrics printed in the jacket liner and it appears to me that quite a few of these lyrics are incorrect. Was wondering if Biff might have overlooked these inaccuracies when signed off on these transcriptions. This is just one of the songs, I've put in parentheses what can be heard listening to the track. Does anyone agree? or am I just hearing wrong? "Open the gates, assemble the gun" doesn't make sense nor does "A young man's lot was blown away".

Dallas 1PM-

Down on main street the scene was set (Crowded main street)
They check out the fuel turn the radio on
Open the gates, assemble the gun (Open the case)
Wait at the red, for the president's run (Wait at the ready)

The world was shocked that fateful day
A young man's lot was blown away, away (young mans life)
Dallas 1 p.m., 1 p.m.

Right and left in the back of the head
Screaming confusion, shots rip the air
Cadillac racing, cops on the run
They couldn't believe the president's hit

The shooting stunned as I seemed to run (shootings done, assassins run)

I'm not familiar with this set, but it's possible that it was not signed off on by the band, as I think I've read a lot of the back catalog the band don't own the rights to, so they don't get much of a say in it. That's why you see all sorts of stuff coming out on different labels. Any why you won't see all the albums sold together as 1 deluxe set.

"White-hot lead, in the back of the head", is what I've always heard there in Dallas 1pm.

Also in "Midas Touch", the printed lyrics have always said "...see the BEAUTY in his eyes...". I have always heard "FURY" instead of "BEAUTY"....???
