Not much to say, Saxon sounding better than ever!
Each song was flawless and powerful, it didn't matter what the setlist
was because they sounded good. We got the whole of Denim of Leather
and it was bloody good hearing all of those songs, even the ones they never play sounded perfectly rehearsed.

Off the new album, Hammer of the Gods, Call to Arms and Mists of Avalon sounded as good as the classics.

Good to see you mate.

Would just add that Saxon played 2 hrs 15 minutes last night at the end of what must have been a gruelling tour. Whenever they tour they do seem to try and play everywhere they are wanted (I know they never played Wales and Ireland this time) but the whole tour organising aspect must be a logistical nightmare. They try and have a decent package of support bands Hammerfall worked nicely this leg of the tour. The ticket pricing is good value for money. Any aspiring band could in my opinion learn a lot from Saxon's professionalism and all round work ethic.

To finish, I would just like to wish all band members, management, crew and families a wonderful Christmas and New Year and a well earned break.

Thanks for a great 2011.

Absolutely spot on there mate, especially with the pricing aspect. It's always complete value for money. Plenty of other 'established' bands please take note!!

However, I will question you on one thing. Does the Fingers household have a TARDIS? You've thanked everyone for a great 2012 but I didn't think we were quite there yet. If the answer is yes then please PM or Text me to let me know what's going to happen. I can't wait.

Thumbs up

As ever Saxon put on a fantastic show. This is my 7th time of seeing them and they never fail to deliver the goods. Never seen Hammerfall before and they were also first class. Great turnout as well. I wonder if they could play the Hammersmith Apollo. They just seem to be pulling bigger and bigger grounds

Funnily enough I said something similar to everyone at Sheffield. We had gone to the venue earlier, that's when I met Nibbs and there were about 10 people waiting at the front door, then gone back to the pub. When we returned about 50 minutes later the queue was VERY long. I turned and said "If it carries on like this they'll be playing Hammersmith again soon"

Someone inside the venue also said to us that the crowd was double the size from when he last saw them there in 2009 when Doro supported.

It's all looking very rosy at the moment isn't it
