if maiden did 2 saxon covers it would be fair but i cant see that happening, but saxon are of the same era so they are not influenced by maiden , a bllack sabbath or thin lizzy song would be great

Yes, it is like that. And I think they were the first band using them that way. Ted Turner, Andy Powell, Laurie Wisefield...great guitarists...

Hmm, difficult choice...probably Big Love by Demon (no, it's not the same as the Fleetwood Mac song). For anyone who's not come across Demon, they are a fantastic NWOBHM band who never really made it - have a look at http://the-demon.com. There are a few soundclips on there. (Interested to hear other opinions too).

To BattleCry who suggested Throw Down The Sword, I can see where you're coming from, but if I was to choose a Wishbone Ash song, I'd probably go for The King Will Come.

I like the Rainbow connection and could picture Biff belting out "Long Live Rock & Roll"...

How can I argue with that lol Good choices.

I think Saxon could do fab covers but don't think it would be their style But just to imagine the songs they would do belting cover to makes your hairs on the back of your neck stand on end
