Most of the people weren't alive when this was recorded. You gotta remember the times, the music scene, what was avilible. "Saxon" was a great start for a band ready to own the world who was lost musically at the time.

It's not 'weak', it has some great songs, it's just very difficult when someone asks you to rate the albums, there is always going to be one at the bottom!!. It's really difficult for me because when I first joined here I said that I don't actually think Saxon have ever made a bad album and I stand by that, there are just albums I listen to slightly less than others and I suppose I listen to 'Saxon' the album the least

I missed those first 3-4 years when Saxon released their first few albums. I discovered 'Strong Arm' through a friend and that was what got me into Rock and Metal and the first album released after I got into the music properly was 'Power & the Glory'. Had I 'discovered' them a couple of years earlier the 'Saxon' album might have been my fave!! It's all down to circumstance.

Unleash The beast scores very high in all these lists, not surprising to me..That album sounds very good (Loud) on my stereoset in the living its very splendid recorded. (very clear, it souds almost live, the guitars are very good to hear, more in the front of my ears..
Do more people have that experience? That some albums hear better on stereoset with big boxes than on the little mp3 player earphones or CDWalkman.s? it has got nothing to do with volume.. Innosence sounds sometimes miles away even on my stereoset.
