please be sure not to book the airport "dusseldorf-weeze". dusseldorf is in the name but the airport is 91 kilometres away from dusseldorf. it´s a very glorious german name-giving...

The airport has undergone several changes of name; the operators originally wanting to name it after the city of Düsseldorf. As there were already three international airports closer to the city (Düsseldorf International, Düsseldorf-Mönchengladbach and Cologne Bonn), the name was blocked by a court decision which argued that naming the airport after Düsseldorf would be misleading to passengers. However, airlines who use the airport, particularly Ryanair, call the airport Düsseldorf Weeze.

one place still left in the car from dusseldorf-weeze to dusseldorf

checking for a holiday-flat for the night at weeze right now - cheaper for every one than a hotel room...

we can rent a touran (7 seats) directly at the weeze airport - pick the van up on saturday and give it back on sunday for only 72,50 euros - all kilometres included... maybe worth a thought... would be 10,30 euros for every one (with 7 seats filled) - cheaper than all single train tickets....

Booked our flights to Dusseldorf. Unfortunately we booked it before Saxonator posted that message about weeze airport. Then Goss phoned up and said don't go to weeze airport! I am so p****d off with Ryan air. I have heard of them doing this kind of thing before, and I thought they were told not to do it anymore. Anyway, we are going, so thats the main thing!

Goss sends his regards to everyone at the forum, and asked if anyone is going to the Nuremburg gig? He is going to Dusseldorf and Nuremburg.

Oh yeah Ryanair, they use Skavsta airport here in Sweden and call it Stockholm Skavsta but it's about 100 km from Stockholm. And it got pretty expensive for us when we made our Saxoncrusade to Scotland, arrived just before midnight, and took a taxi to our hotel in Glasgow, from Prestwick....

Not Dusseldorf, but I would love to go to the last gig in Prague...

dusseldorf gig is a maybe for me and the wife , saxon before xmas and on a saturday and in a great country and with wasp and doro and meeting up with you guys and gals again what am i saying lol dusseldorf is a defo , just gotta get the finances in place cheapest flights so far are 121 quid from manchester , when its under a 100 then ill book , looked at the venue and it looks kewl , very large, price is 49 euros a ticket from what i can gather ( my german is about as good as my english hehehehe)
i think this will be a fitting end to a triumphant year for saxon and its forum members
