Hi All
I wanted to let you all know that within the next week this forum will be shutting down. It's not getting much traffic anymore with the rise of other forms of social media and while it may not seem like it, it's quite a bit of upkeep/costs, etc to get this portion of the website going. I know not all of you use Facebook, but over there you can of course follow the band on the official page but there are several really great fan pages set up you can join, such as Saxon Fan Group, Saxon For Ever, etc. Just search and you can find them. Nigel, Biff and Paul all have their own official pages on FB as well. The band also has Twitter and Instagram. The rest of the website will stay but with a revamp in the next few months. Hope to see you all over there Gina Glockler Last edited by caflyergirl; 01-04-2019 at 07:10 PM. |

Thats a shame, but I do understand the reasons why.
Absolutely hate Facebook, looks like I will have to sign up with a dummy account to get my updates. Looking forward to the 40th Anniversary show announcements, hope its sooner, rather than later. Thanks for the info Gina. |

I totally agree with papadoc.
![]() Very sad. But unfortunately this is the way things go. I too think I will join FB under a nickname. But besides music related things I will not write much there. Thanks for Info. |

Well, I've made some pretty wacky posts on the forum in hopes to get a response from anybody, good, bad or indifferent to no avail.
I haven't been on FaceBook in almost 2 weeks.... I've found it very liberating. I've broken the chains to checking FB 10+ times a day. Don't get me started about the amount of ads. Maybe I'll reopen my account just to follow Saxon. I had a similar experience with 45 days free from searching ebay. Sure I missed a couple rare Saxon items but I used the time well. In closing on a super personal selfish wish.... Saxon has a full band video press release announcing their intention to release 5 new studio albums in 5 consecutive years. Today's society has a short term memory and we've made a pact as a band to not be forgotten. We have a lot to prove and not a lot of time to do it. It's not business as usual. We will set ourselves apart from other bands. Saxon will become the battering ram. Let the battle commence. (and on the sixth year Iron Maiden will be opening for Saxon) ![]() |

Darn, sad to see it go but also not surprised. It's been a fun 10 years on this forum!

I understand, it is indeed silent here.
Some things disapear, Saxon is forever.

Unfortunate but inevitable. Although I probably didn't use this grand Forum as often as others, it has brought me a great deal of pleasure in the past and I have enjoyed being in the company of the truest of the true Saxon fans. I have my Forum t-shirt as a momento and the memories of meeting many of you at gigs. Hope to see some of you on the road. Next up, a trip to the USA and to see Saxon in Nashville and on the Monsters of Rock Cruise. Never Surrender. Peace and love. Jim.
