I'll be making the trip from South Wales for this one. Looking forward to hearing some live performances of songs from Battering Ram. Anyone else going to this?

Hi !

I live in Wakefield so its a nice local one for me- I still can't quite believe we will get a visit from them. I don't think they have played Wakefield since the late 70's or very early 80's.

The venue is a typical club so if you want to know where there are some decent real ale pubs let me know.

Or if there is anything else you are unsure of ?

Hi Ivan, I am staying at the Holiday Inn in Queen Street which I think is only a short walk to Warehouse 23. I would just be happy having a drink before the gig in a traditional pub that serves good cider. Any recommendations would be gratefully received.
Cheers, Neil

Yes just walk up to the town centre where the banks and clubs are turn left then a short walk down the hill brings you to a cross roads
with Unity Works on the corner opposite the theatre. Just turn left again passed Unity Works and Warehouse 23 is a minutes walk down there on the left. its been everything including a lap dancing club , its a really nice small venue to see Saxon in. In fact I struggle to think of a bigger band that will have played there !

The best pub is Harrys Bar , which is a little jem. Walking towards Warehouse 23 , look to your right and Harrys is at the far side of the car park next to a bar called the Print Works , its hidden away next to the Print Works but its worth finding and opens at 5 I think.

I may be driving that night - or not undecided.

But I will still nip into Harrys and The Hop for a couple of halfs.

There are not many decent pubs in Wakefield. Coming from the Holiday Inn down to Harrys and Warehouse 23 you will pass Hogarths on your left - its open all day and is on a par with a Wetherspoons . Just past that is Bank Street , walk down there to The Hop - which is fab always has loads of real ales on , but like Harrys I do not think it opens until 5 during the week. From there its 1 minute to Warehouse 23 , just walk through the car park opposite and turn left down to the venue
