Talking Support Anzac / British / Vampire METAL

Stuka Squadron friends of the forum are looking for some help in getting their second album released.

More details below, but click on the link to see the available pledges from £10 to £50

The Squadron are pleased to announce that their new album is taking shape and will be unleashed upon an unsuspecting world later this year. However, we are asking Squadroneers for any support you can provide to achieve this goal. We have adopted the pledge system and offer you a chance to assist our groundcrew and keep the Squadron airborne and advancing

Looking at this and other recent posts, reading about many artists doing a similar thing and of course our own experience with Heavy Metal Thunder-The Movie this certainly seems the way forward doesn't it.

It's certainly a clever way of getting fans involved and perhaps getting an extra little something by way of thanks. It also means (hopefully anyway) that all the money goes to the artist and that the pilfering record companies do not get their hands on it and that the artist has total control over the content of a release.

But I do hope that the sudden proliferation of these schemes does not mean overkill. In an age when, unfortunately, so much is available for free the promise of a keyring or beer mat with the album is not going to sway people for long. Don't get me wrong, I would much rather pay £20 and know it is all going to the artist rather than 80% going to the men in suits but if everyone starts doing it for everything then for many people the novelty will soon wear off.

If it's done properly and sensibly then it might well be a saving grace for many bands.

And just in case anyone thinks I'm being too harsh I am just trying to play devil's advocate to promote discussion. I will, on pay day, be submitting my donation for the upkeep of the Squadron.

Default The Iron Knights emerge from the Ashes of Stuka Squadron

An update see below.

IRON KNIGHTS is the new name for the band previously known as STUKA SQUADRON.

The official band statement explaining the reasons for this change can be found here: www.stuka-squadron.com (website due to change)

The new website is www.ironknightsband.com and will be live imminently.

The release of the album ‘New Sound Of War’ will be postponed from the original release date of 19 November 2012 to 26 November 2012 and it will be an Iron Knights album.

On behalf of Iron Knights, I would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for the confusion this change will cause – it has not been an easy decision. I would also like to thank everyone that has supported the band and continues to support them going forward.

The first confirmed date for 2013 is at Hammerfest V.

IRON KNIGHTS are:
James ‘Duke Fang’ Begley
Jamie ‘Gravedigger’ Cox
Larry ‘ Baron von Hammerstein’ Paterson
Paul ‘Bomber Beam’ Robbie
Charlie ‘Count Carlos Montoya el Foxico’ Male

The guys can be found on Facebook - IronKnightsBand go to fb and like them
