I don't know how it looks in other countries, but during their visit in Warsaw in 2004, and on 30th April this year, they were signing their albums in a store. So nobody really needed the autograph after the gig..; ) but I, for example didn't know they were signing this year.. and missed it .. damn..

Enjoy the gig : ) and don't be too dissapointed with the songs from the Lionheart album. The competition is just so big..

Yeeezzzz!!!!

I already visited outside Tavastia and I was able to get Lionheart signed by Nibbs and Inner Sanctum signed by Nibbs and Nigel. Hope to see Biff also later today or after the gig.

Can't wait for the evening!

Perhaps the best gig I have ever been to.

One of the best gigs ever for me too, they really rock! I hadn't actually listened much of Saxon before late last year, when I heard Masterplan would be warming them up on this tour. I really like Masterplan, and they had never visited Finland before, so I decided to go to see the gig in Helsinki. Of course I had also heard good things about Saxon, and wanted to get to know their music. Still I have only listened the new album, HMT compilation and Dogs of War, all of which I now really like, although it took a little time to get into their sound.

Their live sound on the other hand was truly amazing, greatest riffs I have heard in my life. Mood was also very good, the venue was quite small, ~700 people, but that might have been only good thing.

The setlist was awesome, and I really enjoyed every song. It's hard to name the ultimate highlights, but at least 747, Princess of the Night, Crusader, Dogs of War, Red Star Falling & I've got to Rock were among them. Here's the complete setlist:

State of Grace
Let Me Feel Your Power
Motorcycle Man
If I Was You
Strong Arm of the Law
Dogs of War
20.000 Ft
Solid Ball of Rock
Travellers in Time
Power & the Glory
To Hell and Back Again
Red Star Falling
Princess of the Night
Crusader
I've Got to Rock (to Stay Alive)

1st encore:
Atila the Hun
Witchfinder General
747 (Strangers in the Night)
And the Bands Played on
Wheels of Steel

2nd encore:
Heavy Metal Thunder
Denim & Leather
Ashes to Ashes

Here are also a couple of pictures. After the first three songs, when the photographers in the front left, I also decided to refrain from photography to fully enjoy the show.

SAXON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definately one of the Top 3 gigs ever for me! Simply amazing. All the old songs ruled, 20,000 Feet in special. I hope to see SAXON here again soon! It was YOU who set the spirit free!

Opening acts were complete crap, Masterplan in special. Two (2) solo spots in under one hour set is competely rediculous.

I wonder why Forever Free has been dropped from the setlist?

Hi! I was in the Oulu gig yesterday and it was even better than I had hoped for. The songs were the same that in Tavastia, but I think in different order. At least "The Bands Played On" was played earlier.

Too bad I didn't have the 20€ cash to buy a shirt. It's not a bad price (compared to some).

Biffs voice hasn't suffered a bit and Paul is one of my favourite guitarists.
