yes reading 86 drew around 20 - 25,000 i think, great show i remember it well ,blazing sun in day and heavy rain for saxoni was like a downed rat, , i think wacken 2009 drew 80,000, but im not sure what the most was for saxon show ever, i know saxon filled 10,000 seaters in uk long before iron maiden , and when they went to greece in 86 they drew 12,000 ,be great to the guys doing some big arena shows in uk again like nec ,or wembley ,the time is now ,i will not rest until it happens

According to JJ jones the former tour manager, (whom I rode on their tour bus with once) the biggest gig as headliners on a tour was in san antonio 1983/84 with approx 18,000.
Convention center i think it as.

Stockholm 1983 was sold out 10,000 also Stockholm 84 sold out. Gothenburg 84 world crusade was 11,000.
The year after in Stockholm 85, pre innocence release, there was only 4000 at the same venue showing the start of the decline. By 86 they were demoted to a smaller venue, Solnahallen in stockholm with a capacity of 3000. Though in brussels 86 they still played Voorst National which holds 9,000 dont know how many tickets were sold, they played the Voorst national 83,84,85,86 maybe also 88?
Yugoslavia 1983 was supposed to have big crowds pionir hall in belgrade held around 10,000 probably sold out.
The zenith in paris they played regularly to 5-6000 in the 80īs same numbers in spain and italy some bigger some smaller. On the 83 and 84 US tours they would do circa 3-6000 on their own on the west coast, bigger crowds in the south like texas and also in the midwest...on the east coast on the same tours- smaller halls or clubs which is a bit weird.

If anyone have crowd info on a european or any other tour from the 80īs please share...
