Default Lulu

Probably everyone has already heard the Metallica-Lou Reed collaboration - they released their track listing and the album cover.

I must say I am not really fond of the album cover, seems a bit on the depressing side, may I say even "emo" and why the name "Lulu"

Now I liked the Velvet Underground and I liked Metallica (aside from St. Anger) but somehow I am thinking maybe this is like chips and ice cream - both are great but putting them both together may be in bad taste

But I should wait till I have heard the album before making my final judgment, it could be great album, bad cover and name.

One liner quoted from the website ""I have no real feelings in my soul/ Where most have passion I have a hole", state Reed's brilliantly uncompromising, harrowing, lyrics." - Is it me or Lou Reed going through a crisis in his life

I've been very worried about this project, the name of the album sucks and so does the art.

I don't think this sounds the best, I hope Lou Reed's voice is better recorded because he just sounds like he's talking live.

Just found this on Wikipedia,

"The collaboration was originally intended to be Metallica re-recording various previously unreleased tracks Reed had written over the years. Among these unreleased demos was a collection of songs composed for a play called Lulu—a theatrical production of various stories originally written by the German playwright Frank Wedekind."

Mmm. Not very promising

I hope This 30 seconds doesn't sum up the album!

AAAAAaaaahhhh!

I know it was only a 30 second preview, but Lou Reed's folk style vocals really did not suit the rhythms of Metallica

That was painful

Well, they have released a track, see reaction under that news section

Is Lou Reed singing or talking?

I wouldn't be too surprised if Classic Rock will champion this as "breakthrough"

That was really really bad bad bad . I would champion it as turd of the highest order (excuse language). It's still bound to sell. And you are right, certain magazines and papers will praise it to the hilt, but at the end of the day we all know that these so called music experts (like art critics) just talk out of their collective butts.
