Default Independent Reviews

Hi all,
As some of you know, I write reviews and interviews for metal-discovery.com. Recently, however, to my complete surprise, several smaller bands, that cannot get a review on there, have either sent CD's or have come forward asking me to write independent reviews for them to be published on Facebook pages, their websites (if they have them) etc. I have also been very kindly been added as an independent writer to the team at;

http://brutifulmetalradio.crazy4us.com/

They are a newish, but extremely fast growing metal radio station based in the United States that concentrates on smaller and unsigned metal acts. All my independent reviews will be uploaded there as well. Check them out if you can. Lovely guys and a great station. I will of course also publish them on this wonderful Forum, so you'll have even more stuff to check out if you so wish.

Thanks for looking
Rick

Hi,
My first independent review has gone live at the Brutiful Radio site. Here is the link.

Independant reviews are mostly what I go by these days. I tend to have more interest in the opinions of people who discuss what they have a passion for and who probably don't paid/get much pay for their reviews than those of people who just do it for the money. The mainstream music/general media tend to be somewhat corrupt, giving the big names glowing reviews and the harder-working 'lesser' groups harsher, more judgemental write-ups. That and reviewers who dan't get their facts right; it's one thing to give something a somewhat undeserved or harsh review, it's another to then give that review for publishing when it's full of factual errors and mistakes that make said reviewer look even more foolish.

Then again, reviews are just one person's opinion, but when they work for larger, more established magazines or companies then I take their views with a pinch of salt because you can't help but think that the money drives what they say.
