Sweden Photies
 

Hi folks. I was at the Sweden Rock Festival at the weekend. Fantastic festival. Very friendly and well organised. Anyway throughout the four days of rockin' an' boozin' i managed to snatch some photos. I've uploaded them to

I was unable to snap the headliners like Aerosmith as I have only had my camera for about three weeks. Its one of those digital SLRs with a shitload of buttons and settings. Some photies are also out of focus but, hell, I did my best.

If any of you can manage to a European festival next year this should be first on your list. The headliners this year were Aerosmith, Heaven and Hell and the Scorpions.

Some of the smaller bands were amazing such as Annihilator, Wolf and Trouble who have the coolest, most laid back singer in the universe. Also Suzie Quatro was amazing as was UDO.

Anyway I'll shut up now and let the photies tell the story. All 158 of them. Ha Ha.

Didn't buy my camera until after the Saxon gig. Not too sure if I would have been allowed in with an SLR anyway.

I'm hoping to go back next year too but have to negotiate my days off.

Sweden is one of the few festivals in Europe that Saxon isn't playing this year. Would've been great if they had but still an excellent festival. If they had played it would have been the wavy blue icing on a very tall tiered cake. In other words - the dogs bollocks!

I was also at Sweden Rock! Fucking amazing festival! Lots of good bands, beer and friends! Some of the best days of my life. Too band Saxon were not there :/ But maybe next year! Would love to se Priest and Saxon as headliners!

I was surprised to se so many german and engligh people at sweden rock. I belived there would only be scandinavian people. Average age at Sweden Rock seems to be a bit higher then on most other festivals, but thats a good thing, young people always tend to start fights etc.

Focus + Blind Guardian + REO Speedwagon + Motorhead + Scorpions

Shame you didn't see Annihilator on Wednesday. They were fantastic. I knew some of their songs but didn't think they would be so good live.

Iced Earth only played 50 minutes or so I heard. Got booed off stage apparently. I was down at the front for Suzie Quatro at the time. Shame she had a saxophone player (who was brilliant for that sort of thing) instead of a second guitarist. Still managed to attract a big crowd.

BTW Did I mention how fucking awesome Aerosmith were. Only complaint is that they did too many girly ballads and not enough of their seventies stuff.

OK. That's two complaints.

It was a hard choice between Crashdiet and Annihilator! But i ended up seeing Crashdiet, they were not very good :/

Yeah Aerosmith was amazing! Heaven & Hell was a disapointment, short and bad setlist, but Dio could stil sing like he was 25!

Thin Lizzy were fucking awesome! No Lynnot but stil one of the best shows i've ever seen! I stod in the front row!


If you saw a guy in nothing but a pair of pink jeans then that was probably mee :P
