Amon Amarth anyone?

Didn't know much about this band but, picked them out to go and watch at Download this year. So, i had a good listen to their most played songs in preparation and enjoyed their slot at the festival.

Then they happened to be playing in Las Vegas when i was there on holiday, supporting Megadeth. Happy days, it would have been rude not to go!

Last weekend saw them on their headlining UK tour, in Birmingham. Had a great time and will probably go see them at the Bloodstock Festival next year.

Anyone else here into them? The guys 'singing' takes a bit of getting used to but, the music is pretty much traditional metal.

Yep love em seen them a couple of times now. His vocals are course but you can still understand what he is saying. Fav track, Gods of War Arise from With Odin on our side. :)

Well spotted PunkTexas... Biff & Paul.
I hadn't watched that particular video before, thanks.

Music aside, their headline performance was very entertaining. Vikings prowling and fighting on the stage. Great backdrops and stage props. An inflatable sea dragon. The god, Loki. And, for Raise Your Horns, Johan Hegg came out with a drinking horn the size of a small child!

Cheesy as hell but, I love all that stuff. The music matters but they don't take themselves too seriously. 'Party like a berserker viking!' the man said.... so we did. :)

Yeah, I went to see them at their London show a couple of weeks ago. They were excellent, very entertaining, and certainly worth the effort.

fantastic band :) yep, johan's singing needs a bit to get into it, but afterwards you discover so many great songs of them - fantastic riffs, awesome melodies :) and live they are killers :)

their latest album jomsviking is a true masterpiece of heavy music :)

Yeah, when you read their lyrics you know the guys have done their homework and know their subject matter.
