Well Played Nigel!! Man of the album!!

A few of you have already mentioned this in your reviews and thoughts of Battering Ram, but I feel Nigel deserves a Battering Ram thread of his own here!

We all know it was only around 12 months ago, that the Captain of 'HMS Glockler' nearly died as a result of a brain aneurism. Thankfully he not only survived but has somehow managed to put in the performance of his life on Battering Ram!

The sheer power and excellence of his performance on the album are staggering - particularly considering he was fighting for his life in early 2015!

He's truly excellent all the way through- most notably on the heavier and faster tracks such as Devil's Footprint, Battering Ram and Stand Your Ground. His time changes and fill ins are brilliant, and he makes the most of producer Andy Sneap 'spacing out' his drums a little more than on the Sacrifice album.

There are a some great performances on Battering Ram, but Nigel's has got to be the best of the lot! Long live HMS Glocker! :D

Nigel has always been the essential "Time Keeper".

Yes, it´s very great and admirable to see Nigel in that good condition not very long after this bad illness. :)
Well done Nigel, album and concerts.:D

Well said MetalMitch and Husky! He is a legend and drumming genius! :D

I suppose BIFF knew what he was doing when he fired Pete Gill in 81. ;)

He did the drums in a few weeks not months. Amazing!
Brilliant drummer, drum hero :) and genuine gentleman.

To get back immediately from that was a massive thing.

Well done Nige..and Gina :D

The absolute worst & scariest time of my life.

Just want to second everything already said. Saw them a few weeks back at Hard Rock Hell and Nigel was on fire, absolutely brilliant. And the exact thought voiced above stuck in my mind that it really is amazing Nigel has returned so quickly. And sounding better than ever live and on CD.

Gina look after him and take care.
