Default They are better than ever!

I loved Saxon when they first started, bought the albums, saw them live twice, then when they went all Americanised I lost interest completely.(I didn't hate the sound, I just didn't like Saxon doing it, it wasn't for them IMHO!)

Then some years ago I heard the title track of 'Metalhead' and bought the album.

It was OK, but I loved the title track.

Since then I have bought the albums and DVD's, and this is a band that to me are better now than they were back in the day.

Saw them on the 'Lionheart' tour, and more recently on the 'Inner Sanctum' tour, and they were amazing.

I think there were quite a few people there like myself who had lost the faith, but had regained it!

My track of the year is the (original) version of 'I've Gotta Rock....' which for me is the most life affirming piece of music I've heard in years, and if there was any justice in the world it would be a number 1 single everywhere.

So, I apologise to Saxon for casting them out into my musical wilderness for so long, but it's great to be back on board and enjoying the new ride!!

Long may it continue!

P.S the new DVD is excellent, can't speak highly enough of it.

Welcome addyeddy - I actually agree with a lot of your sentiments. Blasphemy to some I know but I actually prefer in many ways to listen to the newer stuff.

Thanks for the welcome folks!

Manchester based here, 44 years old.

As well as Saxon, I'm into Kiss, Cinderella,Hammerfall, Sabbath, Priest,WIg Wam (!)lot's of other 70's and 80''s metal, and lots of the new power metal bands from Europe(the finest I've heard recently are Wuthering Heights form Denmark), and a bit of Viking metal.

Also a lover of wyrd folk such as Circulus.

I don't really give a stuff about Iron Maiden or AC/DC !(ooh controversial!!)
