That Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers show's worth a watch, especially the performance of 'Jammin' Me'. I was hoping BBC4 would re-run the documentary that was on about them, I started watching it and then fell asleep before I could hit record on Sky+.

They will do I suspect. They just tend to leave a gap between repeats like that. It was a great doc, although very long.

Most documentaries are too short, they don't touch on the finer points of a band's history. Saxon's doc showed that more length is actually a good thing, they touched on a great deal more than your average documentary does.

I doubt BBC 4 would show the Saxon documentary, it is 3 hours long but there again, I have seen movies that lasted 3 hours before on TV so who knows...

Well the only thing that us freesat viewers have to look forward to on Sunday at half 8 in the evening is "Iconic Riffs" on that Vintage TV channel, hopefully that playlist will include some metal music videos

Well there was meant to be an edited version of the Saxon doc, so you never know. And anyway the Tom Petty Film/Doc was around 4 Hours.

Ah yes, that is true and the Pink Floyd documentary lasted a while too

Sky Arts has coverage of the Isle of Wight festival live over the next three days. Not the best lineup they've ever had, but I suggest catching Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers tonight at around 10 and Bruce Spingsteen on Sunday night if you can. They're about the only two worth watching.
