Default Sky Arts Channel 239 and 129 (HD)

I've noticed a fair few good programmes airing over the next week on Sky Arts Channel (UK) so thought I would list them here for people who do not check their EPG regularly. As I also have more spare time than many people on here I will try and keep it updated.

I'm not sure however, how readily available the channel is in other parts of Europe etc. All times are UK.

Monday 16th April 10pm
Rush - Snakes And Arrows Live In Rotterdam

Tuesday 17th April 4pm
Jethro Tull Live At The Isle Of Wight Festival 1970

Tuesday 17th April 10pm
Iron Maiden - Rock In Rio

Wednesday 18th April 10pm
Slash - Made In Stoke

Thursday 19th April 10.30pm
Alice Cooper - Welcome To My Nightmare 1975

Friday 20th April 11.30pm
Iron Maiden - Live After Death 1985

Saturday 21st April 10.30pm
Judas Priest - Rising In The East 2005

The 'Metal Evolution' series is also being repeated at various times throughout the week

I wish I had MTVN, those RAR shows sound amazingly interesting.

I found the channel by chance once we got HD, and indeed the shows are excellent. I've seen them all, except the Alice In Chains one. The Airbourne one was good as well.

I have Sky+ HD, but I only get channels 1-5 in HD, so unless they allow you to get individual channels added then I shall not be seeing it anytime soon.

It's a pity I cannot get it via Freesat, I very few options for rock via this form of media.

BBC4 when they celebrate rock

Scuzz between the various posers

Vintage TV when they stop obsessing about the 90's and show "Rock Legends", "Vintage Rock Anthems" and "Hair Metal" (It would be good if people would go to vintage.tv and request more metal music videos, should request some live Saxon)

And via DAB on TV, Radio 2 (sometimes), Radio Wales (rarely since Stuart Cable sadly passed away 2 years ago) and Planet Rock (The better of the lot)

When we got Sky+ HD I just asked them for the basic HD package (we don't have the Sky film or sports channels) and we got all the standard HD channels (think its about 30 channels) as well as BBC etc. I didn't know you could just ask for channels 1-5 on their own, although I'm very happy with the package I've got. I only subscribe to one extra channel and that's ESPN (better than Sky Sports and it covers UFC).

MTVN is now rebranded as MTV Live, and the non-HD version is unlocked for me. Plus, Alice in Chains is the first show, so it's party time.

A fairly diverse, and good set of programmes on Sky Arts in the coming week.

One other point, whilst its good that MTVN HD has been rebranded and there is now also a non HD version of the channel, unfortunately they seem to have taken off all the good gigs as well and made it your usual MTV fodder channel

Following are all on Sky Arts

Monday 30th April
2.50am
Rush: Snakes And Arrows Live

4.20pm
ZZ Top: Live In Las Vegas

Wednesday 2nd May
12.00pm
Behind The Music: Genesis

4.30pm
The Who: Live At The Isle Of Wight

10.00 pm
Stratpack Concert

Friday 4th May
12.00pm
Behind The Music: Def Leppard

10.00pm
Led Zeppelin And The Music That Influenced Them

Saturday 5th May
11.30pm
Skid Row: Video Killed The Radio Star

12.00pm
Behind The Music: Heart

1.00pm
The History Of The Clash

2.00pm
Rory Gallagher: Live At Montreux

3.00pm
Rory Gallagher: Rockpalast

4.30pm
The Genesis Songbook

8.30pm
Judas Priest: Video Killed The Radio Star
