[/quotHey Dirkster. Could you explain please for this yankee what is the significance or "Big Deal" with this St. Georges day thing. I want to revel and party with you guy's during this time ( only I'm 6000 miles away). I want to share in the fun of it all. I feel like I'm missing out on something great, something British. I have this wonder and love for England. Please.

Marty

Hey Marty

St. George is the patron saint of England...the hubby tells me he is very important to English heritage, along the lines of St. Patrick to Ireland. Will be flying the St. Georges's Cross high on April 23rd here at the homestead!

St. George according to the famous legend slayed a dragon. I think we'll be slaying a few beers on the day in his honour.

Exclamation Bass player for St Georges day bash??

Hi all, Mike here from the Mike Curran Band, I'm new here. Really looking forward to the gig, there's some great music and raffle/giveaways going on, and everyone involved has really pitched in to make this st georges day one to remember!

I've got a prob though, the "Blazing Embers" part of the band have been less than reliable, we keep going through bass players and are currently bass-less. Anyone know any decent bassists in Leicestershire who can sing harmony and aren't stuck in the covers/functions mind frame?? I've had website ads and fliers up for six weeks and no substantial leads so far, with only two weeks to go to the gig!! Appreciate any help, the flier ad is on our myspace page as well:

www.myspace.com/mikecurranband

I think the flier requirements have scared off about 90% of applicants but I can't handle any more time wasters, we're driven and committed to our originals.
Five track EP being mastered next week (MY featured bass playing!)

Thanks for any help, see ya all at the Green Man on the 23rd
