Well hello there,
My name is Neill and i got into Saxon when i was 14yrs old. Didn't have much of a taste in music at the time but, heard 'and the bands played on' on the radio and thought wow... this is the music for me. Over the next few years i bought their albums and joined the fan club, the Militia Guard. I didn't get to see them live until the 'Innocence Tour'. My interest began to wane as their sound became diluted (imho) and for a long time i didn't pay them much heed but, still managed to see them another couple of times live. Fast forwards to today and i saw Saxon for the first time in a decade or so at Download 2016 and just recently when they played Bristol. I did the 'Meet n Greet' thing also. Brilliant. Suffice to say my love for the band has been rekindled. I've been busy these last 12 months checking out the material that has passed me by and as for Battering Ram... to me its one of Saxon's best ever releases. Good songs, riffs and such a great hard guitar sound. I feel a little ashamed for losing the faith for all those years..... |
