Exclamation Swedish Army in support of Saxon!

In 1983 I was doing my mandatory military service in the Swedish Army. I had persuaded two friends, who had not yet understood the greatness of British Metal in general and of Saxon in particular, to join me for a Saxon concert in Stockholm. We needed written permission to leave the Army base and we did not know what excuse we should give to our commanding officer. First we thought that we would make up some stupid excuse about family matters, but realized it would be difficult to convince him that all three of us had family matters to attend at the same time...Finally I said to my friends "let's just write that we're going to a Heavy Metal concert in Stockholm, and see what happens". We did just that and our commanding officer, a sinister and frightening Major, looked at the application, grunted "Heavy Metal concert, huh?" said "OK then", and approved the application! Needless to say, the concert was a blast, with The Eagle and all. Saxon has always been one of my favorite bands, and in my opinion Saxon and Judas Priest are the two best Metal bands ever! Rock on!

I hear the fishing is good a few mates are into it but its not for me. But there is plenty football , music and drinking so at my age i dont think i could cope with another hobby.

Haha, age has nothing to do do with either fishing or Metal! Being 48, having short hair and a "suit-and-tie-job" I still believe that Heavy Metal is number one when it comes to activities in life. On a nice second place comes fly fishing
