Ah. The Big O.He was one of the very few singers who could wring every drop of emotion out of a song without having to scream. Dusty Springfield was also one of the elite. I do have a soft side!

Not at the moment though. Doro- Force Majeure

I am currently, for the first time spinning

Epica - Requiem For The Indifferent

Sounding good although a few more listens will reveal more.

And being totally shallow it has to sound good considering Simone is the singer!!

Ok, now this really is the business

Adrenaline Mob - Omerta

Russell Allen
Mike Portnoy
Mike Orlando
John Moyer

I already had their 5 track self titled EP from last year which was very good but this has taken it to the next level. Don't be put off by the Allen/Portnoy connection, This has no progressive leanings like Symphony X or Dream Theater (although I like both those bands). This is Heavy Metal pure and simple. To give you an example, on their EP they covered Black Sabbath's Mob Rules. If you can imagine a heavier version of that mixed with a modern production you'll be along the right lines. I challenge anyone not to be tapping their feet or banging their heads to this one.

I listen to and love so many bands but every few months an album comes along that really makes you sit up and this will be in my top 5 of 2012 without a doubt!!

I went to Spotify and it gave me Omerta = Cycle Of Suffering. It was quite good actually, but I didn't think this was what you were talking about. Went to youtube and found it. Agree. It is great

Been listening to a NWOBHM band called Chain Lightning hailing from Cornwall, I got their album "Bolt From The Blue" from iTunes a few years back and just re-listened to it again

I think they are very respectable, nice and atmospheric and the first half of the album is very strong and melodic, they begin to weaken after over half way through the album, and their vocalist does go slightly out of tune on the very last track, I thought the last track was slightly on the half baked side but the rest of the album is worth a listen if you are after some hard rock/heavy metal
