Default Poll. Iron Maiden v Judas Priest

So which of the two great British metal groups do you prefer?

I love Judas Priest, but Iron Maiden beat them in my opinion.

I voted Maiden, but nowadays I listen to Priest the more. Basically it's because I listened a lot to Maiden when I was teenager and I know perfectly their albums!

I voted for Maiden. I love Priest but I think Maiden offers more variety and a better live performance.

I have to vote for the Priest...
Every time i think of them i see the beginning from my
Priest-time :
In one past local Radio-chart-show (called Schlagerralley on WDR 2)
there was three singles in from them : 'United', 'Living after midnight'
and 'Breaking the law'. And if i was with my Grandma
in a shop i asked the record-seller if he had a album where one
of these songs were with.
And i got a flash, all of them were on the same album, one of my
all-time-faves : "British steel", you know ?
And my Grandma bought it for me (think my other money was spent
for "Wheels", i was 16 only with no own money...).
And my brother must have heard it very much often i think
(in the past the most children have had no own room)
But anyway, i have to vote for the Priest...

I have to vote for Judas Priest.... after all, they are my favorite band along with Saxon.

But after the terrible(in my opinion it is terrible)"Nostradamus album" I could see why people would choose Iron Maiden.

They both have about the same amount of "bad" albums,Maiden used to have more but with 2001's "Demolition"(yuk) and 2008's "Nostradamus"...its all even between the two,or somewhat even.

Priest does way too much experimental stuff throughout thier career in my opinion.

I feel as if Judas Priest is "FINISHED" as in they are never going to bounce back after this experimental Nostradamus album. I've grown very tired of them trying to do something "different".

I feel like telling them: "For god's sake just stick to what you do best"....and that is writting a british heavy metal album like 2005 "Angel Of Retribution".That album is a Priest classic...the first 9 songs are supurb Judas Priest at thier best...but I did'nt like the 10th and final track "Lochness".

9 out of 10 is not bad!!! But really,Angel Of Retribution is a very great Judas Priest album. As I've said before...I think Judas Rising,Demonizer and Hellrider are as good as ANY JUDAS PRIEST song ever!

But I think its time for Priest to hang up the leathers and go golfing if they will not give the fans what they really want, and that is a valid british heavy metal album like Saxon has given us consistantly since 1995's Dogs Of War!!

i don't listen to many heavy metal bands but of all i do listen saxon has by far the best albums from '90's to now. i'm not a big fan of anything priest have done after 80's, painkiller is eh, ok but nothing special. i'm not interested in albums with ripper so i'm skipping back to '05 and angel of retribution. hate that album! the only half decent track is deal with the devil, imo nostradamus is better, it's a concept album that needs many listens although i'm not interested in doing that since i don't like it that much. when priest where at their peak (for me it's '80-82) they were almost untouchable in metal, i said almost cos i think accept and saxon were the best metal bands of that period with judas priest, something like holy trinity of metal for me. and i like sabbath's heaven and hell and ac dc's back in black (ok, that's hard rock) but i think (even though they are more popular and respected albums, especially back in black) they can't touch british steel, screming for vengeance, strong arm of the law, wheels of steel, restless and wild, breaker (and also '84 accpet classic balls to the walls and metal heart from the following year)
