Default Lemmy is dead

From the Official Motörhead Facebookpage:

Official Motörhead

There is no easy way to say this…our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family.

We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words.

We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please…play Motörhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy’s music LOUD.
Have a drink or few.

Share stories.

Celebrate the LIFE this lovely, wonderful man celebrated so vibrantly himself.

HE WOULD WANT EXACTLY THAT.

Ian ‘Lemmy’ Kilmister

1945 -2015

Born to lose, lived to win.

Absolutely gutted, hadn't seen Motorhead live for 6 years and was looking forward to travelling to Scotland in 4 weeks to see them, Saxon & Girlschool.

The title to this thread is something I never thought I'd see, at least not for another good 10-20 years. Glad that I was able to see Motorhead live twice over the last 6 years, bummed that I'll never get the chance again. RIP Lemmy.

Well, his health wasn't the best and I often asked myself how long can he go on like this.
But to read now of his death is shocking and so sad.

Had the pleasure of meeting Lemmy in Germany, a kind hearted man, had all the time in the world to talk to me about music, RIP.

HE WAS LEMMY, AND HE PLAYED ROCK 'N' ROLL.
