Default the song that got you into metal?

so if it was not for some divine inspiration, i would now be posting on the kajagoogoo forum.
my musical enlightenment was thanks to a dodgy old clock radio and mark knopfler.had it not been for the intro to money for nothing waking me up one 1985 morning, i would not be the rock god i am today lol
whilst a not very credible introduction i had to start somewhere, but am happy to say my first weeks paper round money went on iron maidens killers.

Talking

Errrrrrr this is a bit of a difficult one.........
Back in the 80's i was a pop fan. I didn't like any heavy rock or metal at all
In fact, i played more Kim Wilde records than anything else!!
Anyway, in the mid to late 80's, a mate of mine liked stuff like Europe, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and Alice Cooper.
Back in 86 The Final Countdown was a big hit, and i quite liked it, so the Europe Final Countdown album was played quite a bit at my mates house when i visited. Then i heard other hard rock albums at my mates house, and i gradually got into faster heavyer music.......
So, the first song that got me into hard rock / metal was....

Europe - The Final Countdown

P.S. My old mate who got me into heavy rock, is now mainly into DANCE music these days!!

Well my mother was singing 'Purple Haze' as she gave birth to me (must have been great drugs back then!) and my Dad used to bounce me on his knee to Powerage, There was always rock in my life, my Dad and his mate were into Saxon for a while, my Mum and dad always used to play records, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Hendrix, ELO and stuff like that, i still have those old albums

Iron Maiden's "Remember tomorrow" ('Maiden Japan' version), and it is still my favourite Maiden song.

It wasn't a song per say, but an entire album for me. The summer I turned 12 was when AC/DC released Back in Black and this was an entirley new animal for me; had never heard anything like it before. Absolutely hooked from the first toll of the bell.

Well my brother was into metal, so I guess I got it from him. But I can't actually remember one song in particular that got me hooked on metal. But the first two singles that I bought (well that me mum bought for me!) were 'Wheels Of Steel' and '747'.

Wheels of Steel for me - However I didn't hear it until the summer of 84.

My first Metal gig was the Monsters of Rock that year.

Mine was Lies by the mighty Quo. Saw it on TOTP and then got into Sabbath, Purple, Motorhead, Saxon and Venom!
