I know exactly how you feel. We had our little cat Dusty put to sleep earlier this year. It's was heartbreaking. We've got 2 others, but it doesn't make it any easier.

I'm very sorry to hear that.

Any animal can get cancer, I knew someone who's cats got feline AIDS.

As a owner of a male half breed Siamese cat and a female white cat my heart goes out to you, I lost a cat when I was 14 (going back 14 years ago - i am 27 now and it still not a nice feeling)

A lot of loved ones of mine has passed away, including my father 2 years back (he died almost exactly 6 months since his mother, my grandmother died) - I always dread the end of the year as most of my relatives who died passed away around then (including one of my cats on December the 12th)

At Lionheart747 put it, the cat had 16 years of love, there are many cats who sadly do not because some people are truly evil

Sorry to hear that slug!!. When I was younger my cat Dougal lasted for nearly 19 years and she was my mate. Feels terrible when they go. And yes cats can get cancer as can any animal.

Helen and I fostered for the Cats Protection League for about three years and had to look after cats with cancer and felins aids amongst other things because they couldn't be found a home. We gave them as much love as we could before they passed on. It was very sad but fulfilling.

I feel your pain. We've had both of our cats die this year. Within 8 months of each other.

We'd had them both since we emigrated to New Zealand from the UK. When the 1st died, it was made worse by the fact that our 8 year old duaghter was completely devastated, she had lost her best friend.
