Thumbs up Ten songs Saxon rarely plays or never has played..

It's been posted here before, but here's my take:
Ten Songs Saxon has never or rarely played live, you'd like them to play?

Mine:

1- Run for your lives (has been played in 1988).
2- Sailing to America (has been played in 1984 and last year at a gig where they played only an excerpt)
3- Jericho siren.
4- Call of the wild (has been played in the 80's)
5- Empty promises (I heard a nice live version of them with longer solo, but the sound quality was bad- a bootleg).
6- Taking your chances (with the duelling guitar solo's at the end).
7- Come rock of ages.
8- Till hell freezes over.
9- Ministry of fools.
10- Burning wheels.

Warriors of the Road from the Sacrifice album.

Great song, and they even named a tour after it too! Shame they didn't put in the setlist!

I agree with you on Warriors of the road.
After I posted this thread I also thought of some other songs that would be nice to see and hear:

Nightmare, Midas Touch, All guns blazing, Prisoner, Termonal velocity, Surviving against the odds.. and more I can think of, but I don't want to fill in too much so that some other Forum-members can't suggest any song I didn't already mentioned, haha.

Agree with you about Midas Touch.

2 other old classics that don't get played much these days, and I'd love to see live are Freeway Mad and the immense Machine Gun.

Thumbs up

I was very glad to hear "The Great White Buffalo" last year in Cologne.
I have nothing against to hear it more often, good music and great lyrics.

Red face

I can't hold myself any longer and going to put the final list of my 'rarely or never played songs' here:

Judgement day, Still fit to boogie, Militia guard, Street fighting gang, Out of control, Rough and ready, Watching the sky, Altar of the Gods, Baptism of fire,
Forever free, Hole in the sky, Don't worry, Yesterday's gone, The thin red line, All hell breaking loose, What goes around, Sea of life, Killing ground, Rock is our life, Running for the border, Flying on the edge, .. I stop, because with this list and my previous posts it gets too much, haha.

I agree with you on these early 90s classics mate. I was lucky enough to see Baptism of Fire live in Manchester in 1991, and Hole in the Sky in Stockport in 1992, while the other students at my college were worshipping Nirvana and all things grunge.

By the way, I met (the mighty) Paul Quinn after the Stockport 1992 gig and he said that Hole in the Sky was his favourite track from the Forever Free. album.

They have never played to my knowledge VALLEY OF THE KINGS from Into The Labyrinth - real shame - I would really love to hear that live!
