In a new interview with MetalTalk, Biff has revealed he is working on a solo album. Andy Sneap, Sascha from Avantasia and Biff's son are helping out . Biff also says that he would like to get members of Motörhead, Metallica and Megadeth involved . One track title was mentioned 'School Of Hard Knocks'

First that Scintialla thing, now a solo album?
Sounds to me like Biff is thinking of cutting out on his own. Is this the end of Saxon?? |

Indeed, Biff is very busy this time.
But I don´t be afraid because of the end of Saxon. They will have a new album next year, as you can see here on the "General Saxon" thread. ![]() |

I read in some interview that it will sound like early Saxon. What's the point then in making it a solo album and not a Saxon album?

Anders I guess Saxon have evolved over the years. They still have their signature sound but sound to me heavier. It really suits their style and works equally well in recorded and in the live shows which are second to none.
Biff probably wants to write and record to the early 80,s template just a different sound and recording process to today. Not sure if he plans recording with analogue rather than digital to try and recapture that feeling. It frees him up from the expectations of a saxon album too as there is an expectation of what it should sound like. Maybe he will put something together and play the rather good http://www.brofest.co.uk/ a nwobhm fest worth checking out. |

Its good that he creates things.. and that he is busy..its like in sports..when you dont get enough play time in the field, you must train in between to keep fitt
