Tyketto - Dig In Deep (2012)

A fantastic return. Its not polished but there is just something about the delivery of the songs. It's a very 'honest' sounding record. Danny Vaughn is also in great voice which is always a bonus

Ok I'm on a roll .

I missed this one last year and am just catching up. This is Shane Embury's (Napalm Death) new 80's style metal band. And it's excellent

Absolute Power - Absolute Power (2011)

This may be of interest to anyone who hasn't heard it before because Shane himself describes it as a mixture of Priest, Tygers and early SAXON. Brain Tatler and Tim 'Ripper' Owens also pop up on a couple of tracks. If in doubt, check the cover art. That says all you need to know really

Edit: Track 3 'Raging Pursuer': Please someone listen to this and tell me it's one of the best Priest tracks that Priest never wrote. I know not everyone agrees but Ripper's voice is just incredible.

Ok, my last/first one for yesterday/today if you get my drift!!

Sorry, back pain and pills making me a touch woozy but this has a put a HUGE smile on my face

Firewind - Few Against Many (2012)

This is stunning full stop... I always liked Gus G's playing but he's outdone himself on this one. The album is more diverse than previous Firewind albums and probably more accessible musicwise as well. Whether the Ozzy gig has done it or not I don't know but it's a cracker.

Fear Factory - Recharger (Single)

'The Industrialist' is FF's latest attempt at a concept album running along the lines of 'Demanufacture' and 'Obsolete', and so far it sounds like a worthy relative of those two career milestones based on what I've heard so far from the single and various clips. Probably one of the best Metal releases of the year if you like more slightly more extreme stuff, and the special box set edition is a must for FF fans and limited release collectors alike.

I quite like some Fear Factory. Also a superb box set, but that really would be a nightmare to find a place for

Holy Moses - Agony Of Death (2008)

I love Holy Moses and the Godmother of female thrash vocalists that is Sabina Classen.
