Philthy Phil - Cool you were there Phil, can't blame you then it was defo cheese and tom

Lemmyswart - Yes mate! The topic of age was discussed last time, guess i'm one of the old Saxon warhorses, now 41

Bec - It's a great picture, that moment was the left and right side of the crowd in a shouting competition that Biff does during Wheels of Steel, I think? Judgeing by the reaction of the crowd and the way Biff is holding the mike out.

Moz - Yeah! You were a roadie at the time for them? Bet you were all knackered, the flying back and forth to the States at that time, a very busy period as 'Strong Arm' had just been released in America. Come on Moz! please tell us some more!

Actually no I was just running the fan club but at odd points earlier in their career I helped out roadying or if you were at the last night of the Bomber tour with Motorhead I was Biff's "stooge" - I got custard pie'd centre stage at Hammersmith the bastard LOL

As you look out from the stage on that Donnington pic I was off to the left as I was with the band I got a laminate with stage access for their set. Generally a great gig but like I said marred by fucktards thinking it is cool and not dangerous to throw projectiles at people and the stage. you can take out eyes with that shit - not clever at all - just plain dumb!

I'm glad you have recovered this gem ! Great Pic. by the way oh and nice hair mate !

However I have to say, I did start to worry about the cheese and tomato sarnie scenario thinking it could have been me. As whenever I had a packed lunch my Mum and Dad would try and foist cheese & tom sarnie's on me, I hated them the bread went soggy cos of the toms. I have locked this image away for years and now the nightmare returns.

However luckily my first donington was 84.

mozzy

i dont think its clever to through crap at gigs either, dodging bottles of piss and other projectiles does not add to my festival experience either.
i was only going along with the lighthearted nature of the thread after all.so i wish to retract my cornish pasty statement, and appologise to both mr byford and the fine people at ginsters for any distress caused.

My comment wasn't directed at you at all. It was a general one as like you say dodging bottles and the like isn't funny - especially if they hit you.

saxonator
just thought the response was a bit harsh considering the thread was a bit of fun.but we are all entitled to post are views but i guess moz is going to fight the saxon corner because of his history with the band.
but now would seem a good time for us all to move on from the harvey goldsmithy ranting.
