To me it's not so bad...anyway far better than Oliver/Dawson Saxon: I can't stand Wardi!!! It's unlistenable!
Please, could anyone explain me that "Mickey Mouse Story"? Thanks!

Some people on here refere to oliver dawson saxon as MM Saxon or mickey mouse saxon. Im not sure what micky mouse has to do with anything but thats what some people call them.
Personaly, i think there more like a second rate Saxon tribute band.....

Thanks.
I haven't any album by them, I've just watched some video and listened to some song on their forum. I think that when a band in 7 years has made three albums but just a studio one with new tracks, something doesn't work...anyway, to me Wardi isn't a singer...

Yes, wardi is a crap singer. The Son Of A Bitch album 'Victim You' is not bad, and Ted Bullitt is on vocals, not wardi.

Yes, Bullet is not bad. Nothing special (it reminds me a poor version of Bernie Shaw and David DeFeis), but honest. Wardi...bleah!!!!

Read it. I was aware about legal war, I hoped to find genesis of Mickey Mouse name! Anyway Oliver/Dawson Saxon is a very sad name...They are making all to seem a bunch of pathetic losers by using that name and touring playing just old Saxon songs...ok, Oliver and Dawson wrote that songs, but to me they are living in an alternative timeline...

When you click on the first link, one of the other videos you can watch is by a band called Tubeless Hearts. They do a cover of 'Here I Go Again', and 'Animal'. Watch it, it's so bad it's hilarious! The two women dancing during 'Here I Go Again' in the bottom right hand corner of the screen is pretty funny as well!

I think Paxoman came up M/M Saxon(It may haveBlack Lagoon or Fingers). But
Mickey Mouse is often used as rip off or poor mans version of something.

Oh, and as for the O/D clips, or should I say Graham Oliver's Saxon clips. I read somewhere that Wardi had left, but it seems Steve Dawson and Nigel Durham have left also.
I'm not even got even slag it off because the video just says more than words ever could. It is cringingly embarassing. The big crowd raw at the end of 'Strong Arm' was a nice touch. It's amazing the noise about 10 people can make!!!
Stick to pottery Graham, your embarassing yourself.

First of all a big thanks to Heathen for explaining me "Mickey Mouse" meaning. Dunno if O/D Saxon are finished. I know that Oliver is busy with another band with his son and Kev Moore called Tempest. They released an album some mounth ago. I've heard 4 tracks on their myspace. Not bad, it's rock not metal.

There is nothing on the ODS or Nigel Durham My Space sites regarding a split in the ranks of that band. Interestingly, though, Dobby's site doesn't list Graham Oliver as a band member so don't know what the story is there.
I know I'm not supposed to like them but I'd recommend a listen to Graham's new band - Tempest. (Not using the Saxon name!)

I think Oliver isn't credited in Dawson page because it's just a list of people involved in Dawson solo album...Anyway I'm not sure...

Yes, you could be right - good point! Anyway, I've mailed Steve to ask what the situation is. Will post a message on here if I get a reply.

Can't remember if I came with the MM tag, but I might as well take the credit for it! :)

Well Ollies son and Kev Moore are in those video clips, but it is not billed as Tempest. It is billed as Graham Olivers Saxon. So not sure what is going on there. To be honest, I don't want to know!

Yes, but this videos are old stuff from 1995. A young version of Tempest!

I think was the first attempt by Oliver to start a new career...not a very successfull move indeed...

To be honest... it couldn't be Saxon without Biff. It doesn't matter who plays behind him. He is Saxon.

Hi All,
I was just checking out the "Classic Rock Legends" SAXON DVD the other night and it was really cool! Very nice to see the band in the process of changing from old members to new members. It was billed as "classic" SAXON, but there was Nibbs on bass, and ... yes, it's Nigel banging away, too!
So I notice Graham Oliver is playing what appears to be a white Charvel Fusion guitar ( or possibly a Jackson ) and he is out of tune - at least at the end of the show.
So I went back and watched this clip of Oliver/Dawson SAXON, and he's playing the same guitar, and it's still out of tune 20 years later!
What's even worse is that this guitar is equipped with a Floyd Rose bridge. When those are set up properly, there is very little excuse for being out of tune.
It's also funny that on their website they claim to have won the court case, and have "allowed" Biff and the boys to use the SAXON name - out of the goodness of their hearts, apparently.

For gods sake drop it!
Yes Biff is Saxon, you can't deny that, but why all the grief you are all giving Graham and Steve? OK, there was the turmoil and falling out over the use of the name, but these guys were still the cornerstone of one of the greatest metal bands of the early 80's.
Why not just let them get on with what they are doing, which is playing live music.
I for one (and by the looks of it am the only one) wish anyone who had an imput into Saxon at anytime of the bands life the best of luck with whatever they do.
I don't want to get into a slanging match and drag up the sordid past, I just want someone to defend these guy's, as if it wasn't for them, would you have a Saxon now? Graham at his peak was an awesome guitarist and Steve always played 110% and with passion.
Rant over!
