Sounds like it's going to be a great tour, backto playing the classics.
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g90/midnightrider43/lineup.jpg

To tie in with forthcoming 2008 releases on DVD of the classic 'LIVE AFTER DEATH' and 'MAIDEN ENGLAND' concert videos (more details coming soon) this tour, aptly entitled 'SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME', will revisit the band's history by focusing almost entirely on the 80's in both choice of songs played and the stage set, which will be based around the legendary Egyptian Production of the 1984-85 'Powerslave Tour'. This will arguably be the most elaborate and spectacular show the band have ever presented, and will include some key elements of their Somewhere In Time tour of 1986/7, such as the Cyborg Eddie

Lol,yeah buy you could make a good two hour set i think.I mean on the "Night Out With The Boys" tour Saxon did stuff from the first 5 albums so they only play stuff from the 5 albums for the next tour.So thats Crusader,Innocence,RTN,d and Solid Ball Of Rock now would an interesting set no 747:)

I could live with that Saxon set! Would be nice not to have all the so called 'classics'. There are plenty of songs from those albums to keep the place rocking!

Are Iron Maiden doing any British dates, if thet are how about Hammerfall and Saxon as support?:)

Well, this is a really big thing for me. Iron Maiden is my nro.1 band and I'm using all of my money that I can spend to see Maiden as many times as I can. This is surely going to be the most important Tour ever for me!

It would be just nuts If SAXON was supporting Maiden in London for example! That's where I'm going to see Maiden in England most likely because a friend of mine lives there! Of course I'm looking forward to meet you guys, when this is timely :)

aces high
2 minutes
clairvoyant
revelations
hallowed by thy name
can i play with madness
rime of ancient mariner

Yeah, songs from the albums which are mentioned in the poster

Just a beautiful poster. That image (Powerslave theme with SIT and SSOASS) will most likely be my first Maiden tattoo :)

I'm still waiting for big surprises like Dejá Vú, which is one of my very favorite Maiden songs

Would be nice if they did more stuff from the first 2 albums.
I still enjoy listening to them. But harris in the past hasnt liked the early stuff.
A shame as its those albums that got the Iron Maiden name on the map.
Of course when bruce came along ghey headed for greater things but I feel they should do more very eraly songs

British heavy metal legends IRON MAIDEN will playing their first-ever stadium show in the UK at the Twickenham Rugby Stadium in London on Saturday, July 5, 2008 as part of their Somewhere Back In Time World Tour 2008.

Despite headlining major UK festivals like Reading and Donington many times and selling out stadiums around the World, the band have never before elected to play a stadium in the UK and intend to make this first time a very special occasion. The 50,000-capacity celebrated home of English Rugby will be transformed into a MAIDEN mecca with fans travelling in from all parts of the country and further afield for this one and only UK show of 2008.

MAIDEN has consistently performed headline stadium shows outside the UK and "Maiden Mania" is currently gripping the world as tickets sales of the 2008 World tour fly out of the box offices in Australia, India, Japan, North and South America and now Europe with many shows selling out within only a few hours.

Comments bassist Steve Harris: "It could be a bit of an understatement to say how excited we all are to be playing this show next summer. We've got hell of a tour planned visiting old and new fans all over the world but as always it's great to get home and play here in London especially at such a prestigious stadium as Twickenham. Fans who travel out to Europe for our stadium shows there have for a while been asking us to play one here as the audience in a stadium is much closer to the band than at a big festival and can see so much better.

"As some people will know I am a big football fan but have heard much about what a great stadium Twickenham is from our rugby mad manager!! So l'm definitely looking forward to savouring that atmosphere We played a couple of nights at Earl's Court just before Christmas at the end of our last album tour and you always get such a great feeling playing at home with all your friends and family there. It's going to a fantastic occasion."

A full supporting bill for Twickenham will be announced shortly.

Tickets go on sale to the public on November 30, but members of the IRON MAIDEN fan club will get special and exclusive first access to purchase tickets on November 28

No way will I be going to this either - Maiden won't be getting any more of my hard earned cash after that crap concert last year. I might go right enough if I get some free tickets which includes free transport and overnight accommodation !!

Have you all lost your senses?

This is a). IRON MAIDEN
b). TWICKENHAM
c). Set list featuring Clairvoyant, Heaven Can Wait, Aces High, Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, Wasted Years etc etc

They will not be playing anything from No Prayer.....(which I think is a great album). As for last years "crap" concert, I presume you haven't bought Matter Of Life & Death, their strongest album in years with no fillers, hence why they played it all live.

I'd like to see Iced Earth, Grand Magus & Saxon on a small quality line-up next July.

Naw I haven't lost my senses at all..

Firstly (A) I don't really like Iron Maiden, so why would I want to go and see them and secondly (B) Twickenham isn't anywhere near where I live.

It's all a matter of opinion of course but I think 'A Matter Of Life And Death' has got plenty of filler in it!

After a few listens mine is now gathering dust on the rack !

However I loved the Powerslave era tunes - so have sold my soul and am going to my first Maiden gig since seeing them three times on the Brave New World tour (inc. the Clive Burr gig) where they played the same set everytime!

I'm gonna see Maiden in two days in my town. :)
I'm sure it'll be a night to remember (this'll be my third Maiden show) - and I've got "first to the barrier".
But first I'll try to catch them tomorrow at the airport. :D

Good for you Crosader. Hope you enjoyed the gig and hanging out with the guys too. I met Steve Harris in Dublin after i saw them the week before at the infamous San Bernardino gig, California. He was an absolute gent and got up off his seat, walked over and thanked me for supporting the band on foreign shores. I am in no way shape or form.....jealous ;)

Guys, guys, guys... I love Saxon, and I love you all... but what I've just witnessed tonight... it's un-fuckin-believabe! There are no words to describe it. All I can say is that it was THE BEST thing I've ever seen (and I've seen a thousand concerts (on video and live). There's NO band who can match with MAIDEN at this moment. Shit, this tour looks greater even than Queen tours (sorry Freddie...). I can die now, I don't care (just bury me in my Maiden t-shirt). UP THE IRONS!!
