Mate thats classic!! i was always intending to start a thread like this!! i mean we can respect each others tastes etc. but we cannot all like the same stuff..

but that said i dont want to offend anyone...much!

my top 5 (id be here all night otherwise! its a long list)

green day, i simply cannot put into words how much i despise this band, i really cant, i just hate them so fucking much its unreal!

linkin park, they are just total wimps! faggot metal lol

Bowling for soup, i just want to kill all the bandmembers

panic at the disco, i have the bottle throwing video ;) i owe that guy a pint!!
avenged seven fold they are just pathetic, every metal cliche in the book, manufactured, boring, lame etc. etc.

i also pretty much hate Trivium because they are fake ass metal wanna be metallica

i dont really like metallica much any more either...i also hate that band midnightrider mentioned...and scuzz for playing them!!

I have actually listened to these bands (in some cases whole albums) and geniunely didnt like the songs.

Totally agreed :D Never liked them, my personal taste cannot handle Manowar even if I hear bands close to Manowar's style.

I know some would disagree, but I can't stand Dragonforce. They are so outstandingly boring live, and the records are too. Why can't they be satisfied with one solo/melody at one time? And the same drums double beat drums and tempo through the songs (maybe not all songs though, I know). It just goes on and on and on. They are like Edguy, only that they are faster and the fact that they suck. And what's up with the guitarist, Herman Li, who is a good guitarist, but is just playing this stuff you can't hear and does guitar tricks that are other guitarists' (which could be kind of nice, if he wouldn't be doing it in a cheesy, taking-all-the-credit way). Question to drummer: Do you have the ability to switch tempo in a song? :eek: My God.

Also, Britney Spears covering "I Love Rock n' Roll".. now that's a big wtf from my side.

Damn it!!!!! how could i forget Dragonforce in my little list. Although my wifes hatred for them is lot stronger than mine, she compares most things she doesnt like to dragonforce:D i just prefer not to acknowledge their existence!

Me too, Crusader. I wonder if it's jealousy that makes people slag off other people? Have we got lots of "wannabe famous" musicians on here, who are pissed off because someone else is getting to follow their dreams? Ok, everyone is entitled to their opinion about everything, including music - but the fact remains that these bands wouldn't continue to exist if SOMEONE didn't buy their music, and someone obviously is!! I can't be doing with snobs of any type - music or otherwise. :mad: :(

Yeah, There was a thred on Ultimate Metal on the 'Old School' forum called 'What Bands Do You Hate' or something like that.
Anyway, there were so many arguments cos people were slagging of bands which other people really like, and the thred was closed.

I agree with everything you say Sammi.I am differant from all the others i'm right.I am also jealous and overopinionated.Besides if we did bands we love everyone would think i'm taking the piss:) .Its also a bit of fun(except in the case of Manowar:D ).C'mon Crusader there has gotta be a band that just makes you want to destroy small cities.:D

At which point did I say that anyone has to agree with everything I say, or that I think I'm different from anyone else, or am always right? I merely meant that I don't see why people feel the need to slag bands off, just because they are doing something they love. No-one is forced to buy their music, or listen to it. It is my opinion, I don't expect anyone to share it, or think it's right...and quite frankly, I don't give two hoots what anyone thinks of me or my opinion! :rolleyes: I apologise for not having anything I particularly 'hate', it's not in my nature. I do, however, take offence at people being sarcastic towards me for no reason other than that I don't go along with these things!

Of course, I don't have to join in the thread, do I? :cool:

The topic in this thread was pretty much intended to make users react in showing negative emotions against bands/musicians. I don't think it's hate or jealousy, just people thinking freely. What I did was releasing some annoyance. And I don't think that you're a snob because of that, I don't go to people I know and go on about what I think about Dragonforce (which I mentioned). What I, or any other user here didn't either say (I think) was that we look down on people that listens to these bands. I respect Dragonforce fans, if somebody likes their music for the music, it's great.

Nope its down to personal taste. people dont all like the same stuff, whats wrong with venting our feelings towards bands we geniunely dont like? It is just in fun, have you not ever heard a song and thought "arghhh get that shit off!!!"

Ive got no problem with crusader liking dragonforce or him not liking the dimmu borgir vid i asked him to watch, its all good and its nothing that means we cant find some common ground and get on and be mates, were all Saxon fans here remember, we are all here for a reason!!!

At the risk of being branded a snob, I submit the one and only band I truly loathe - Guns 'n' Roses. There are other bands I don't particularly care for and more often than not, I can ignore them. Unfortunately, these clowns had some success and their brand of shite still gets way too much airtime :confused:
If you want to see a completely irrational reaction to a tune, give me a baseball bat and make me listen to "Welcome to the Jungle" one more fuckin' time...
