Hot news today is that Paul Johnson has reformed with his brother Steve Johnson (ex Phil Lynott) but better known for Guns'n'Oatcakes/USI (see other posts under Paul Johnson/Steve Johnson). This "new" band will leave the ghost of Guns'n'Oatcakes in the past, as they both move onto a new venture but combining all their history ie; Saxon, Thin Lizzy etc.

Going on what I was told today, its just a question of some extra equipment as all the members have now been decided. As far as a new name is concerned, the Johnson Brothers has been proposed, but using USI is also being considered.

The band is just a few months away and it will happen.

I will be meeting up with the band in the next few weeks and will let you know the update.

And the singer/writer/guitarist for Steve Dawsons album is Steve Johnson, Paul Johnsons brother.

Maybe because Paul Johnson was bass guitarist in SAXON!!

For those who take an interest in current or past members of Saxon, Paul Johnson is currenty with John Parr (St Elmos Fire) supporting Journey http://www.johnparr.net/ a few movies of the guy in action found there.

:D

One of the reasons we like to know what past members are up to is that we don't want to make the mistake of seeing them. ODS have upset a few of us with their antics over the years and we would only want to bury the hatchet right in the centre of their foreheads.

I don't suppose it matters with Nigel Durham and Paul Johnson too much as they were only "Temporary Workers" at the end of the day.

Your correct.

But the thing is he never really registered a blip on the Saxon radar.

Well he played drums on what some people consider to be Saxons worst album, so that's a pretty big blip! lmao.
